On Thursday, February 7 Kevin and I flew to San Juan, Puerto
Rico. We flew from Colorado Springs to Dallas and Dallas to San Juan. We
arrived in San Juan around 7:00pm and took a taxi to our hotel. Funny
thing….the same flight attendant who was our first Snug HarBor customer on our
flight to San Juan in December, was on this flight too! It was crazy to see
her again! We checked-in to our hotel and went straight to dinner. We decided
to have some sushi, although I opted for terryaki chicken instead. We knew that
we didn’t have to be at the ship the following day until about 4:00pm so we
didn’t force ourselves to go to sleep. We watched some TV in the room and fell
asleep around midnight.
We slept in on Friday morning until about 11:00am. We walked
to Subway and got our lunch to go so we could eat up on the sundeck of our
hotel. It was a very nice little lunch date! We left our hotel around 3:30 to
go to the ship. We took the city bus to Old San Juan and the ship was docked
right next to the bus depot. We were finished working around 6:00pm and went
over to Senior Frogs for an appetizer and drinks. We were hoping to meet a
friend of ours who lives in San Juan for dinner later that night so we didn’t
eat too much. We went back to the hotel around 8:00pm and waited to figure out
details with our friend. It turns out we were not able to meet up with our
friend that evening, so we walked over to the grocery store and bought some mac
and cheese (we had a microwave in our room) and some wine and enjoyed a
relaxing evening in our room!
Enjoying drinks at Senior Frogs.
I like this "motto"
We woke up on Saturday around 10:30am. We had to switch
hotels because we were inspecting one Norwegian Ship and one Royal Caribbean
ship, so we checked out of Hotel Miramar at noon and walked about 3 blocks to
the Courtyard Marriott. We were unable to get a room at the Marriott so early,
so we walked over to the beach and had some lunch. We each had a Cuban sandwich
and it was delicious! When we got back to the hotel our room was ready! We relaxed
in the air conditioning and then went out to dinner around 7:30pm. Our friend
Cameron, who we were supposed to meet the night before, picked us up from the
hotel and took us to Isla Verde, where we had an authentic Puerto Rican dinner!
The food was so good and it was awesome to go to a place we would not have
known about without having a friend who is a “local.” We got back to the hotel
around 11:00pm and crashed around midnight.
We woke up around 8:15 on Sunday morning and were on the
ship around 9:00am. We went back to the hotel around 11:30am to pack our bags
and head back home! We flew through Atlanta and got home around 8:00pm. It was
a nice and relaxing weekend!
Sorry for the lack of pictures on this trip! I think the overload on some of the other trips makes up for the few I took this time
